• STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: From the Yorktown Fm, which unconformably overlies regionally the Eastover Fm (Late Miocene), and is unconformably overlain regionally by the Chowan River Fm. It is unknown from which member of the Yorktown Formation that this collection is derived. AGE: Early to early-Late Pliocene on the basis of known age-range of the Yorktown Formation (Ward, 1992). STRATIGRAPHIC POSITION: From unknown position within the formation.
